I have been playing Runescape a while now and I want to get my mage level up. Is there a guide in the game anywhere that can help with doing this? ALSO, where can I find the bottom piece of a wizard's(beginner wizard) clothing. On the grand Exchange whenever I search Wizard only hats and robes come up, what do mage's wear as their bottom piece? A skirt?

here's my guide of mage training

first of all there is no wizard botom.it is simply the blue skirt you find in varock clothes store.

before you start raising up mage u need a good look.

it depends if you only want you to look good or only training.

if training the best set is:

wiz hat

wiz robe

blue skirt

antidragon shield(since it doesn't lower magic bonus)

magic amulet

team cape(looks better)

boots(df bonus)

glove

magic or any elmental staffs

this should cost around 2-2.5k in whole

BUT if you wanna look really good...here's what i recommend you:

wizard gold trimmed set

rainbow boots

gold team cape

gold gloves

skull scepter(hard to obtain, took me 2 days whole)

berseker shield(rune reccomended, some jealous people just wont stop calling you noob if using addy)

amulet of strenght[t](looks massive altought its just an amulet)

this should cost around 2.4mil-2.7mil(wich is the set i use)

and is NOT reccomended in training.it is ONLY to make you look rich and experienced.

NOW its time for the real thing.

if your poor and cant afford high lvl runes to train there are 2 options:

1.THIS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for people that doesnt want to waste money on runes.go to the fist of guthix miningame and play rounds, there you have free runes to cast spells.always use ure strongest magic attacks to attack your hunted.when its your turn to be hunted just forfeit the round to get more magic xp as you cannot cast spells when being hunted.

2.go to the dark wizards respawning spot south of varock and kill dark wizards(dont atk the lvl 20s if you dont hav food)they will drop a lot of runes and waste them all once you get them.altought this method is very slow for raising magic you can still get other skills exp.

BUT if you're rich and want fast magic xp here's what you do:

planA:buy nats and low alch ash that you buy in ge.you will get 35 mage xp per alching and can lv up to 50 mage in very short time.if you already have 55 mage(wich im sure you dont have, high alch items...it cost the same price wit fire staff and gives 2 times more xp)

planB:THIS IS A VERY GOOD METHOD.buy iron ore and coal in ge and superheat them into steel bars.iron bars cost 150 gp ea now and coals 220 ea,nats are 220-250 ea.after you smelt them into steel bars sell them in ge around 900 gp ea.you will LOOSE NO money.but it requires you to have at least 200k cash and 45 magic to do it.

planC:buy loads of chaos or deaths and waste them all by having fun in clan wars =]

well, that's probably all and by the way you should get 1 staff of each element.it helps a lot.

my name is i run angel and i have private chat on

add me if you want. i pk a lot

High alch is cheap now that nature runes are in the low 200s. But you need 55 to start doing that. For f2p, I like d'hide bodies, though if you're poor it will be hard for you to buy these in quantity. You could play Fist of Guthix. That gives you free runes while playing, and you get rewards too. But you get hitpoint XP as well when you use combat spells. If you don't mind getting HP, then do this till lvl 55. This is certainly cheaper than any other way below 55. One other way that will take you a while, but is very cheap. Get the Lumbridge Diary Explorer's ring, and use the 30 low alchs you get per day. That's like 900 xp per day, costs you nothing, and it only takes a min or two to get.
