Hello. I recently downloaded the HL2 demo from Steam on my laptop, as more of a test than anything. You see, I don't have a particularly powerful laptop, with the integrated graphics being the main limitation. Amazingly, I was somehow able to run Half-Life 2 at almost full settings very smoothly. I also ended up loving the game, and now I would like to buy it. My question is will the Orange Box run on my laptop? Moslty I am asking about HL2 and it's episodes, though I would like to try Portal and Team Fortress 2. Thanks to all.

Valve's graphics engine doesn't strain computer's as much as other games. It can look good and be easy to compute. If your computer can run HL2 on optimal settings, then the rest of the Orange Box will work perfectly! Have fun, but just remember, are you "thinking with portals?"

Your graphics card is probably about as powerful as mine. I have the hl2 demo, the portal demo, and team fortress 2 (tf2) and the hl2 demo doesn't lag at all, the portal demo did on the lowest settings (not bad but still kinda annoying) and tf2 is pretty much the laggiest of them all for me because of the fire, and constant changing graphics along with playing with many people. If you have a nvidia graphics card there is a way to get hl2 deathmatch, hl2 lost coast, and portal demo for free (portal demo was always free) so you could try your graphics card on there. Here it is....

And type in Orange Box.

It will tell you if you can run it or not.
