Unable to connect to Activision Matchmaking [Error 33]?

Question

Tried to play Call of Duty: World at War today and this pops up after the "Downloading Game Settings..." message which takes about a minute to go away. Anyone know why this is popping up? (No its not my internet connection I can play Black Ops no problem along with other games.)

yeah man i got the same thing happening to me and my friend on his account. something bout the online was shut down. heard it could be as fast as 5hrs or as slow as a day to be fixed..hope this helped

Sounds like they screwed us over again... I haven't been on WaW in a good while, but its possible that they finally transferred all of their servers to Black Ops so that there would be less traffic and less strain on the servers they already had (AKA: They made more room for players to play lag free).

I did some research because mine is doing the same, its a scheduled maintenance. It'll be back in around 5 hours.

They're just doing some kind of server maintenance. CoD:WaW is supposed to come back.
