Artists, computer programmers, writers, voice actors, musicians, folley artists, graphic artists, everyone who helps make the commercials and stuff to advertise the game, etc all the way on down to the folks who work in the cafeteria and clean the toilets in the bathrooms. They need to pay for all the equipment these people use. They need to pay to rent buildings to house all this stuff. They need to pay property taxes on the land these buildings sit on. They need to pay to rent space at conventions. They need to pay to run Blizzcon every year. Idk if you have ever had a reason to look into renting anything of that scale but I have seen about ten square feet cost $2000 for 4 days at a convention. Imagine how much an entire convention hall costs to rent. They need to pay to keep websites up and running. They need to pay to develop all the other games out there they make that aren't WoW. Starcraft 2 anyone? Diablo stuff? Etc, etc, etc. Blizzard is a massive company. It costs money to keep that running. And frankly, in a world where it costs $20 just to see ONE movie and eat some popcorn and have a soda, I'd rather pay my $15 and get an entire months worth of entertainment. Everyone always bitches "Oh, video games cost so much, blah blah blah". No, they really don't. In case you haven't noticed, EVERYTHING in this world costs something. Some of it costs more than others. Running a video game that hosts 10 million players costs a LOT.
