Fable 3: What should I do before I leave for Aurora?

So right now I'm supposed to go to the sewers in Bowerstone Industrial (resistance hq) to meet with the resistance. Logan just killed Swift. But from reading other things, I know that soon I'll have to go to Aurora, which I know to be a desert land to the south where the desert furies come from. I read something about needing 9 million gold, but not why. I have almost 2 million now, and own every shop and house in the Dweller Camp, Brightwall, the Mercenary Camp, Silverpines, Mourningwood, Millfields, and Bowerstone Market, Industrial, and Old Quarter. So basically I own everything I possibly can at this state in the game. Anyway, I played Fable 2, and I understand that this Aurora trip will probably similar to the ten years at the spire, and there are certain things I need to do now so that they'll come into effect when I come back. (like donating to Westcliffe and the Temple of Light in Fable 2) I've already donated to the restoration of the bridge to the Gypsy Camp, which I'm sure will take effect upon my return. What else should I do?

Since you aren't gone as long as during the Spire (10 years for the Spire, a few weeks or days for Aurora), it doesn't have the effect like the Spire mission. The bridge mission only takes a few days in game, and you don't even have to go to Aurora to see the results. Just spend a few days wandering around in game, and the bridge should show up. Anyways, you should spend time collecting gold, and doing any mission that you want to do right now, as some disappear when you go to Aurora.

As for the Gold, you need 6.5 million Gold in the country treasury (accessed once you become King/Queen) to save all 6.5 million people in the world that you protect. Each gold less than that amount means that another person will die. You don't have to do anything to get that gold if you don't care about the people dying, but if you want to save the people of Albion, then you do.

Edit: Kidnapped is one that I know of, though basically just do any missions that you want to do right now before you take off.

Not sure where you found you needed 9 million gold, but that's not completely necessary (at least not until you finish the revolution and even then, that's only around 7 million if I remember correctly).

I'm sorry I can't really help much on what you should do before heading to Aurora as I went through the game pretty quick the first time (working on it a second time and taking my time this time). I don't think there really was anything that needed to be done before hand like the Temple of Light. They sort of simplified everything, as you can tell.

I'll hope someone else can give better light on what you're asking though. Good luck!

Quests don't disappear, there aren't really any consequences, but you may want to do all the side quests you wish to do now. also if you plan to be good you should rack up like nine million gold, the reason why is a spoiler.
