Skyrim - what does equipping scrolls do?

i already got the fireball spell but i found a scroll called "Scroll of Fireball" i have it equipped with duel-wielded fireball. i was just curious as to what it does. does it boost your fireball even more?

No, a scroll is like a one time use spell. If you already have fireball the fireball scroll wont do anything more for you except that you can cast it without using any magicka so if you are playing a pure mage you might want to keep it as an emergency back up/ or if you are playing as a non magic using fighter you can use scrolls and not have to put any skills/perks into magic.

scrolls are simply a 1-time only spell that costs no mana to use. if you used like a fireball scroll for one hand and the real fireball spell for the other and combined them. you could double the potency of the spell for the cost of casting one of them.



quite useful really when you want to save a little mana and deal some big damage

i think it teaches you a new spell.... i dont think it casts it
