Question:
The Sims 2: Help with an error/glitch?

Hmm, so there is this tree in the yard that started flaming randomly. Like, it caught on fire. I think it was in a lightning storm, and those usually go out, but this one never did. I tried calling the fire department but they said I had no fire and fined me 500 bucks. My (younger) sister told me to use "Force Error", which deleted the tree, but now there's a floating patch of fire, which cannot be deleted even with move_objects. It slows down my game when it comes onscreen.

Help please? :)

I think you might have success if you download the 'stuckobjectsremover' hack from More Awesome Than You. http://paysites.mustbedestroyed.org/booty/maty/ffs/

Click on your latest EP, then click on hacks, then click on stuckobjremover.zip

And remember to turn off your boolprop cheats before installing it.

Edit: yeah I could not play without that hack! It's a godsend!

Found a thread about your same problem and the same hack was recommended. I'm posting the Google cache link as modthesims2 is down at the moment.

Well, I would try using the stuckobject remover that Wollybutt talks about as I have that already and know it works great. But, just in case you don't want to have to download something to fix it, the only other option I can think of is to tell you to put the family into the sim bin, bulldoze the lot and then move them into a new lot.

do you have Seasons ep? during summer rainy day,my sims tree get struck by lightening, which caused fire in my backyard but the fire will off quickly.there's no need to call fire department.let your sims panic a little while, they'll be fine.
