you have to reinstall the game

but to "save" your sims you can copy yhe Ea games folder from your my documents folder to an external usb stick if you like

reinstall the game

start it up

exit it

remove the EA folder it created and replace it with the one you backed up

If you copied the Sims game on an external Hard-drive then you most likely copied the executable Sims files as well. These are the files that make the game run and install all the files necessary to run the game.

All you have to do after that is take your saved games from the old computer and copy them into the Saved Games files on the new computer for Sims. If you did not copy the executable files, then there is a problem.

If you still have the code for the game you can call the manufacturer and tell me to send you a file to install the game or download a demo and then use the code to get the full game. Other than that, there is no other way around it.

You can look up the pin code (or whatever it is), look it up on google, to each of the games if you don't have them anymore (I did it), and then register your games online on sims3.com. The codes never expire to register them online, so you don't have to worry about it. Once you do that, you can install Origin (the launcher than sims3.com uses for the games), and then install that onto any computer, login to your account, and you can download all your sims games (base +expansions) onto whatever computer you want to.

The neighborhoods you will have to transfer, yes.

It's possible you'll have to re-install but what you're planning is worth a shot.
