How to activate mods in bf2?

Hi I just downloaded a cool mod for Battlefield 2 but i don't know how to activate it, i know this is a Noobish question but i don't know how, I've installed it and put it in the mods folder but i don't know how to activate
please help

If you don't have a shortcut with the mod, then you need to create one.

Find out the name of the mod folder, it will be in Program files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\

Now copy the Battlefield 2 Shortcut and rename it to whatever your mod is called.

Right click on the new shortcut and select properties.

Add +modPath mods/"name of mod folder" +ignoreAsserts 1 to the end of the Target line eg:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +modPath mods/Omnicide +ignoreAsserts 1



While you are there you can change the icon using the "change icon" button if an icon for the mod is available in the mods folder.

Been a while..As i recall when you install a mod you do not start bf2 normally, There is usually a new shortcut created that you should use that will load the mod.



If you can't find one if you go into the mod's folder you should see a .exe . If you click it the mod should load up.
