Yes, because you will enjoy it as soon as you get the hang of it and you will be glad that you got it because there are a lot of cars like:Lamborghini's,Mitsubishi's,Dodge's,Ford's,Porsche and many more. The hard parts might be the Canyon Duel because they are hard and the bad thing is that you can't use time breakers. If you do good and beat Darius then you will unlock a Audi Le Mans Quattro known as Audi R8 but that car will be available for Quick Races only. If you know Need for Speed Most Wanted in the beginning you get to use the BMW M3 GTR and you have to run away from Cross. To tell you this he will be a good guy in the game but he will work as a lieutenant so you better watch out.Hope this helps because I know the game and there aren't many bosses. So you will do just great and to tell you this there aren't any drags but there are drifts so you can have some fun in the game.If you would need help when you have the game then ask a question and I will be glad to answer it.

I have a PS3 as well.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of racing games, so I didn't like it that much. I recommend renting it first, and then seeing if you want to buy it. Because all the games are $60 which is firggen insane.

The NFS Carbon replaced into released in a hurry for the launch of the PS3 on the lack of ability of gameplay and pics. i'd decrease your losses, NFS professional is a few distance extra acceptable, it makes extra acceptable use of the Playstations more advantageous pics.
