I have a dell inspiron 15r, i play skyrim through Steam but i can only play for about 30 minutes before it the whole pc crashes and i have to switch it on again. Why is this happening and how can i fix it? I have put the graphics as low as possible, and made sure nothing else is running. Also, when it reboots my laptop is really hot, maybe thats the problem?

Dell inspiron - 4gb RAM
Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz
Intel Hd graphics/Nvidia GeForce GT 525M

Thanks in advance.

Your Computer configuration is above par for this game. The only reason could be the Heat that is exceeding inside the Laptop and shutting down the Laptop.

To check whether the Skyrim game is the cause, try playing any other game for a long time, make sure you play some high end game.

Suggestion: Laptops should be placed on Flat surface, so that the air can pass through the holes at the base. If Laptops are kept on soft place like Bed, Cloth, Laps, they cause the ventilation problems for Laptops and they get heated very soon.

It over-heats. one idea may be to position a fan towards your laptop whilst playing... Im not sure, but you may be able to buy a fan and install it into your laptop so it doesn't over heat. Also play on the lowest graphics because that might allow you to play longer
