Okay, so I bought the actual game at BestBuy and such ($60) and I was wondering that now that I have it do I have to pay to play it now? Or do I just have to pay if I want to play online and such? (I've played World of Warcraft before, and pretty much get the idea of that, except I didn't buy it from retail store my boyfriend got it for me online or something and I had to pay monthly to play) So exactly whats going on here?...Thankful for answers, i'm such a noob xD

Once you bought it the online play is free.

WOW has subscription fees because Blizzard are constantly adding content, like new dungeons to raid. Starcraft 2 will probably get a few patches to balance units and fix bugs but they aren't doing nearly as much as the WOW team.

Hey there,

If you need to download StarCraft II Wings of Liberty you can get it here for free: http://bit.ly/1BDydHA

it's completely free and it's very fast to install

Once you download the game, you are free to play the campaign mode, multiplayer mode or even create your own match against bots. The campaign is divided into 29 playable missions, but you can only play 26 of them in a single playthrough.

Enjoy it.

Once you buy the game, you do not need to pay to play online. I never played WoW, but from what I understand, the reason why you need to pay to play is because you don't play on the Battle.net servers. Since SC2 is on the Battle.net server, there is no fee. Unless if there is any DLC that you want to buy, there should be no fee for anything online for SC2

It's an MMO and like most MMO's you have to pay a subscription.
