Skyrim Losing Skill Points?

I recently leveled up my Enchantment to 100, but now when I try enchanting anything it comes out with a low enchantment level.

What's going on here

If you use the enchantment soul trap, and you happened to have an empty black soul gem, trap a soul. It could be it was just filling up the soul gem. It doesn't always completely fill the gem. I noticed this when I was carrying tons of soul gems of many kinds. Killed lots to fill them and noticed sometimes I'd see greater soul gems fill with petty souls. It does this when there aren't any more smaller soul gems to use. Other then that either you once wore armor to enchant better or drank a potion. Hope this help abit.

Did you previously have potions of enchanting you were using? Enchanting doesn't really go full tilt until you fortify the skill past 100. Same as how alchemy is only at its best when you fortify it with enchanted clothes.

perhaps you didn't invest into the perks for increased enchantment effectiveness. or if you're using petty or lesser soul gems, they won't produce as good an effect as a grand or greater soul gem.
