I applied a (in)famous hack to my nintendo wii that allows me to run emulators for various consoles. Right away, I felt a need to revisit some of my favorite games from the SNES and Genesis. FF6, Chrono trigger, Secret of Evermore, and the Shining Force series. I am looking for other great games I may have forgotten.

I guess the titles I listed imply a bias towards RPGs which I will not deny, but I do enjoy games of all genres.

These are some of my favorite games for the SNES

+The Lost Vikings (puzzle game/platform)

Really fun and as some funny scenes.

+Troddlers (puzzle)

Really addicting, you have to save little lemming like creatures.

+S.T.G Strike Gunner (Top View Jet-shooter)

Really fun, and the power-up are really great to use. The game is really challenging. Awesome music

+Aladdin, Lion King, and Toy Story (Platformer)

I really enjoyed those game.

Sega, I didn't really play many sega games.

+Chakan (horror/platformer)

It's i guess a bit in the style of Castlevania, I actually haven't played it, but saw my uncles play it numerous times (i was actually scared of it, lol) Well the downside is it has a terrible ending.

+ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron (platformer)

I liked the character and thought it was pretty funny.

+Streets of Rage 1,2,3 (beat-em up)

Really fun game, your classic beat-em up game. Played it constantly when i went to my cousins house.

+Vectorman 1 and 2 (side scrolling shooter)

Well the first one was really awesome, tranformation orbs really always really fun. Really enjoyed the music, as well as the sound effects

Maybe check out some videos on youtube.

Here are some great SNES games that have been released for Virtual Console. I realize you're getting them by other means, but that doesn't make them any less good:
