Okay hear is my copy and paste answer that I have handy. Now the next few things I’m going to write is a bit of an eye opener to all the gamers, 360 fan boys, ps3 fan boys and pretty much anybody else who I didn’t mention.

First I will talk about system features.

Then I will talk about graphics

Next will be games

After that, I will compare psn and live.

Last I will at the sales.

1. system features

Now the looks come into affect first. The ps3 doesn’t look like a grill and whoever thinks it does is a moron.

Even critics agree that the ps3 is sexy. I think they say that because the 360 fan boys are jealous because their 360 looks like a old dell PC.

Now also ps3 can be customized like the 360.

Except it’s now just plastic, it’s actually a paint job so it’s for real.

Now let’s talk about the controllers. Before we go I have to admit, I love the 360 controller. Now the 360 fan boys say that the ps3 copied the home button. Actually the psp and the psx had a home button long before the 360 did. Also the ps3 controller didn’t copy motion control from the wii.(oh by the, the 360 controller has no motion control or Siaxis) motion control has been in arcades for years. Also the ps3 was announced before the Wii so it stole nothing. By the way the ps1 had a motion control controller in 1999. also the ps3 controller has rumble just like the 360 controller, it’s called Dualshock 3 and it still has Siaxis. Also the 360 controllers need battery packs. And some are even wired. The elite controller needs aa batteries. Ps3 has Bluetooth controller and headsets. Also the ps3 can support up to 7 controllers because of Bluetooth, but the 360 can only support up to 4.next 360 fan boys say who needs blu ray? Well every major company has announced that blu ray is better yet 360 supports HD DVD. And they make it bought for $200.the ps3 has a blu ray player built in and blu ray discs have a space of 50gb but the 360 supports disc that actually only support 8gb. Also blu ray discs run faster than the ones that 360 supports which makes your game is a lot more intense and fun. 360 uses old DVD drives which date back to 1997. hell the ps1 was out then. Also the blu ray disc has expanded to 400gb while xbox 360 supports 8gb. That’s like 65 times better games you’ll get on the ps3. more longer, detailed, better graphics, better online, and pretty much everything that you want.

2. features

XBM:

Can store music

Can store videos, movies

Store photos, images, wallpapers

Game demos, full games,

Custom ps3 themes and wallpapers

Ps online store

Messaging

Video, voice chat

Backwards compatibility

Remote play

An internet browser

Even the psp and wii have a web browser.

Now we will look at the reliability.

Due to constant

Overheating

Error messages

Crashing and scratched discs

Public humiliation at stores and video game events. ( they found 360’s on display at stores that have the red right of death)

The 360 has a failure rate of 33%. That’s 1 out of every 3 360 ‘s breaking! The ps3 has a failure rate of .02%. that’s about 4 million 360’s that are broken.

Now we talk about prices. Read carefully!

Ps3(80gb)

Built in blu ray drive

HDMI port

Built in Ethernet port and wifi

A controller with a charger

Memory and flash slots

Region- free games

Backward compatibility

Free online service and home

$499

Xbox 360 elite

Headset, big, old, cheap, and wired.

Old dvd drive

Third rate HDMI port which is not true 1080p gaming

Limited and region restricted games.

$450 doesn’t include wifi which is $100 bucks if you want xbox live. So that makes it $550 dollars plus $20 bucks for a charger. That’s $570 plus HD DVD $200. total $770 and its hd not blu ray which is better. Also you have to pay $60 bucks a year for online.

So overall $500 bucks vs $770 or 570% if you don’t want HD DVD.

3. graphics

360’s cpu has 3 cores while the ps3 has 8 cores. Which is twice as powerful. Now lets compare the gpu

360 ps3

Overall 1 tflop 1.8 tflop

Gpu speed 500mhz 550mhz

Polygons 1 billion 1.2 billion

Max resoulution 1080i x 1 channel 1080p x 2 channels

360 fans say that ps3 can’t handle gears of war. Yet the ps3 can handle mgs4. I don’t see a version of mgs4 coming for the 360. the xbox 360 gpu which is 48 billion shader ops per second while the ps3 has 100 billion shader ops per second.

Every gaming website has said that uncharted for ps3 is the best looking game on any console.

The 360 maxed out with mass effect.

Unfortunately the engine can’t keep up and slowdown is rampant. –IGN

That, glitches and other graphical issues such as pop in textures, tearing, frame drops, long loading times, etc.

Also 360 could barley handle gta4. and rockstar was pissed.

Now the big one.

3. games

360 fan boys say the ps3 doesn’t have any good games.

Xbox

#1: Well-balanced development environment

I've made this the #1 point because this is likely going to be playing a larger role in the current generation of products. Every time a new console comes out, you always hear about how it's "too powerful" for all but the most talented developers, or how an exceptionally beautiful game is only using 10% of the total system hardware. All of these comments are simply marketing phrases and have little real-world bearing. For example, I could say that my one player game is only using 25% of a console because I'd need to make it 4 players to use the full capabilities of the machine…

2. Wireless controller

While item #1 is responsible for bringing better games to the Xbox 360, it's the controller that ultimately dictates the interaction between the gamer and the game. Even though the Xbox 360 "core" system doesn't include a wireless controller, you can still use an off-the-shelf wireless controller; the receiver is built into all Xbox 360s. In that regard, the Xbox 360 is the first modern console with wireless gamepad support integrated into the machine. Wireless gamepads aren't new – they've been around since the Atari 2600 era, but the Xbox 360 does wireless better than anyone else.

3. Free Downloadable Demos

As much as I harped about all the features that were missing from Xbox Live Marketplace, offering free downloadable demos on Xbox Live is something that Microsoft has implemented better than any other device, PC included. Sure, Sony may have sent out demo CDs to members of the PlayStation Insider club but by the time the discs were actually manufactured and reached gamers, many of the games were already old. With the Xbox Live distribution system, the manufacturing delay is gone. So, not only are you getting downloadable demos of games, you're often getting demos of games that aren't even available for purchase yet. The first example is Fight Night 3. (And yes, these are real screenshots we took ourselves)

4. "Always On" Xbox Live

Although most of us see Google and Yahoo as the dominant players in network services (who really uses MSN or Mappoint?), Microsoft's strength in this area of computing cannot be ignored. With the Xbox 360, Microsoft has taken their strengths from the non-gaming division of the company to build an excellent online community. Critical to this element is the "Always On" capability of Xbox Live.

5. WMA/MP3 playback with Online Metadata

Although the original Xbox allowed you to rip WMA files to your CD too, the Xbox 360's always-on connection means that you get the same metadata support as Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows Media Player 10. Simply put, for the vast majority of music CDs including many esoteric "audiophile label" and "independent label" discs, the Xbox 360 will be able to provide track and artist information. Additionally, the Xbox 360 is one of the few consumer electronics devices capable of handling WMA Lossless playback. Although CD-TEXT support would have been a useful addition, the online database remains a nice feature should you choose to use your Xbox 360 as a media server or prefer to take advantage of the custom soundtrack feature. Although this article is focused on the strengths of the Xbox 360, I should mention that the system won't allow you to configure your WMA bitrate and that it re-encodes stereo music into Dolby Digital.

6. High-Definition Media Center Edition Extender

Windows Media Center Edition 2005 is proof that Microsoft can get user interfaces right. It's visually appealing, highly intuitive, and allows both novice users and expert users to get the most from the interface. Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 even outperforms Apple's Front Row competitor in terms of having an interface that "just works." The Xbox 360 allows owners of MCE2005 systems to use the Xbox 360 on a second TV by streaming the video over the network. While you can't play DVDs over the network, you can play recorded and live TV. This means that someone with a MCE2005 and several HD tuners could watch/record several different shows on different televisions, all in high-definition.

7. High-Definition Gaming

Although a handful of software titles on the original Xbox support 720p, and the PlayStation 2 had 1080i support in GT4, the Xbox 360 marks the first console to bring high-definition gaming as a standard. Until the PS3 is released, HD gaming is still something that the Xbox 360 does better than any other system. A lot has been brought up about the lack of 1080p support from the Xbox 360 and this deserves some attention.

The Xbox 360 has better exclusive games, and their online gaming is far superior (although the PS3's is getting better).

Only if you really want a Blu-Ray player should you consider a PS3.

I have the xbox 360 and i love it. Personally, I think they are pretty much the same thing. If you don't care about the price, then get the PS3 because it has blu ray. If you do care about the price difference, then get the xbox. The xbox 360 also has better games (Gears of War, Halo).
