How do I get healing potions in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion?

I've reached my first gate to Oblivion and it is *hard*.
I need some more healing potions, so I returned to the normal world but I can't find any.
How can I get healing potions and where might I find them?
Oh, and what other things might I need for entering Oblivion?

U can find healing potions in lots of places throughout the game. Various vendors sell them, u can find them as loot, sometimes an enemy u kill will have them on them.



As for Oblivion Gates, what I have done is find various weapons and armour that I know are effective against the enemies u meet in Oblivion Gates and I stock up on them. If I can't carry them all, I park the extras just outside the Oblivion Gate so I can run back for them if what I have gets exhausted. I also try to have a Varla stone or two to recharge all my enchanted items.



Never drop stuff inside the Oblivion Gate unless u are going to pick it up right away. Because once u close the gate, anything left in the plains of Oblivion is deleted when the cell is reset.



There are really only 7 plains of Oblivion. It seems like more because the gates are placed in various locations so u don't enter from the same place each time.



Your first Oblivion gate will be the most fun because future gates are basically the same thing over and over (and it gets boring). I played a game once where I closed all 60 Oblivion gates manually and it was a big bore after the first few gates.

Okay, if this is your first Oblivion gate it can be quite tough. Constantly save the game whenever you get passed a hard fight. Luckily for me, I had 100 in Block, Heavy Armour, Light Armour and Repair before I even left the sewers.



I didn't cheat (except to dupe some Repair Hammers) and it took me like 3 hours. Having 10+ rats trying to kill you on the easiest difficulty will level you like mad.



If this is on the 360 then I know this exploit that will make your life a whole lot easier, the dupe bug. If you search google it, it will make your life much easier.



Duping will get you all the health potions and gold you could ever want. Within the first day of starting my Kahjiit I had 100,000 Gold, Full Ebony + Umbra, 2,000 pounds worth of Encumbrance and level 100 in many of my skills.



By the way, I recommend Heavy Armour because it looks cooler and it doesn't slow you down when you get level 100 in it.

Best to keep your healing spell equipped at all times. Also, any town will have a shop that sells potions, but you can also get them from people's houses, treasure chests, dungeons, etc. My advice? Go stock up on some items, sell them, go to a town, then buy some potions.



Also, if I were you, I wouldn't even worry about the Oblivion Gates, better to focus on the sidequests. There are like a dozen of those gates and they are the same thing every, single, time. It gets really boring after awhile.

There are healing potions in every city on the map. Go to mages guilds or other stores. Get some lock picks or a spell that can lock pick. Just some heads up!

go to the maiges guild in bruma. there is a potion merchant there. just buy one then use the scroll duplicating glitch to make more.... and for the things u might need for entering oblivian try using good weapon and armor oh yeah and magic potions if ur using spells.
