Halo 3 matchmaking I need help?

I am pretty good at halo 3. I destroy 50's and 45's in 1v1's and in custom games but for some reason in matchmaking i cant get past a 41. Are their any tips to get better at matchmaking (Im an mlg type of guy no gay ar or smg straight up br and snipe)

ODST comes with two disks, the ODST disk that has campaign and Firefight mode on it and then the second disk which is the complete Halo 3 multiplayer experience. On this disk has all the maps that have been released by Bungie. It does not have the Halo 3 campaign on it, but playing it is identical to playing Halo 3 multiplayer and whether you are playing Halo 3 multiplayer on the ODST disk, or the Halo 3 disk, you will be matched up with both. Also I should point out that ODST's campaign and Firefight mode do not have a matchmaking option, you need to recruit your friends manually in order to play with them, you can't just find random people to play with.

Make sure you play with other people. Set up strats don't just run around and kill... play it slow.
