Question:
Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip? Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald?!?

Look, I know most people aren't into Pokémon anymore.... But I'm considering getting Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald. I've heard that Mudkip and it's evolutions have the advantage at most Gyms, while Torchic struggles at Gyms. Treecko has really high speed at first, and it's final evolution has only one type: Grass, while Swampert and Blaziken both have two types. Also, I'd like to ask: Ruby, Sapphire or Emerald? I know Wallace takes over as Champion in Emerald, and you can catch PKMN from both Ruby and Sapphire in it. HELP!!!

no matter what anybody says, my fav is still EMERALD. the action is hyped and you get to fight team aqua and magma BOTH. two baddies! heck yeah, plus theres two more legendary pokemon for you to catch. three actually.

and yes, i agree with what you say that Blaziken has trouble at gyms, but you can find good replacements to compensate. first gym isnt hard at all, so get a Taillow and you can sweep it fine. you can use Aron (ground moves) to battle Wattson, as ground is weak agasint electricity. for Brawly fighting is weak against flying,so you can sweep this one too by using Taillow. by the time you reach the fourth gym you should have a water type already, id reccommend Wailord. and use Azumarill as a Water HM slave. to battle your dad just make sure you have fighting pokemon with you (machop, makuhita) and as for Fortree your Blaziken can finally get a chance to shine. for Mossdeep either Absol or MIghtyena will do, as long as they have dark type moves. as for Sootopolis, bring along your grass type pokemon.

in the end, i still love Blaziken, cause it's more of an offense pokemon with high damage whereas Swampert is like kinda balanced. and if you stick with you Blaziken to the end, you'll have a powerful fighting-fire-bird pokemon that will never let you down.

and this is why id choose Emerald over the other two any day. but its entirely up to you.

Hey, I would suggest emerald because of all the improvements in game design and new features. As for a starter, if you want a really fast grass type who is unique and can put in a lot of damage and fast I would say treecko, also because the last quarter of the game you are fighting almost entirely water types. For a mixed attacker who gets same type attack bonus on some really good moves but is more of a glass canon I would say torchic, torchic struggles a little toward the beginning and the end of the game but it gets compensated for that by secondary fighting type that its evolutions have. It is good but takes a while to get good and can be a risky play but it is a high risk - high reward pokemon. If you want a more balanced choice go for mudkip, it is a bulky water type and when it is fully evolved it only has one weakness (grass) which is great. You can exploit its advantages like that. Mudkip is a good choice for the whole game as it can be very help full however it is a little slow, play to its strengths and avoid its weaknesses and mudkip will serve you well.

I still love Pokemon and play it almost everyday, there are many fans out there. Good luck

I rather choose Emerald because instead of battling Team Aqua, or Magma, you can battle both! Even you can catch, the Weather Trio! Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza! Instead of battling the Battle Tower, you can battle the Battle Frontier! If you get all Gold Symbols, you are a Frontier Master. But when you battle the Sootopolis Gym, the Gym Leader is different. There is a different Gym Leader because in Ruby and Sapphire, Wallace was the Sootopolis Gym Leader, but in Emerald, Wallace was promoted to a Champion. Even all of the Gyms have different mazes than Ruby and Sapphire! In R/S (Ruby and Sapphire), Steven was our Champion. Right now in Emerald, he is still our Champion, training at Meteor Falls. Battle him and his Pokemon is even tougher than you thought. I rather choose Torchic because I like fire types Pokemon, but when you evolve it into a Combusken, it's a Fire and a Fighting Type Pokemon. But, when you battle Sootopolis's Gym, it's a Water Type Gym even Wallace's Pokemon in the Champion Battle.

I hope this concludes to get which game to get.

Sincerely, Reshiram AKA NCWR.

Torchic is the best. It is the best fire type pokemon in the whole game.
