Play station 2 or Play Station3 for a five yr old?

Question

for a five yr old boy who is very active and like to play problem solving games which one is the best PS2 or PS3 as his b'day gift?

I would say get him a Wii.... its much more interactive than the PS2 or PS3.... He wont just get smarter by playing interactive learning games but he'll get exercise as well. It will keep him entertained longer too since there is more things to do on the Wii, so you can cook dinner while he plays on that, and you wont have to worry if he is watching something inappropriate on TV. I for one have never been a huge video game fan (im a 16 year old girl) and I think it's not a very good idea to get a little boy or girl hooked on them, it'll be a huge distraction in the future when he/she is a teen. Trust me, there are many teen boys I know that would much rather play a violent video game then go outside and be interactive with friends.... When I first discovered the Wii I was in LOVE with it instantly, its so much more interactive than a than a regular video games console... I think its better than just sitting on a couch and giving your THUMBS a work out lol... Hope I helped :D

Get him a Wii since he is 5 years old and plays Problem Solving Games. But for a PS2 or PS3, get him a PS2. I got a PS2 when I was 5. It was fun. Got like 50 Games. xD

I remember i first started playing video games when i was a 5 year old, that was back in 1995. I'm still a gamer and always will be. I recommend you go with the PS3 and get this game called God Of War or Uncharted..

PS3. He's only going to get older, and it's not like they're making any more PS2 games.



It's a better investment to get a PS3 which will continue having games made for it. Plus as he gets older and his interests in different genres of games changes, there is already a huge library of games (that are still growing larger).



And there are a lot of puzzle/problem solving games that would he would love on the PSN store.



Then, of course, there's the advantage of it playing blu rays, Netflix compatibility, saving your music and pictures, etc....
