Ok, lets just say I am an absolute idiot. I bought into one of those power leveling services for like 15 dollars. THSALE.COM.....I only bought it to level me to lvl 40 (i was already a 38 by hand). My question is, will wow ban me or just suspend me for the 72 hours???and if they do suspend should i wait a couple days after the suspension to log back on so the ip addresses dont immedietly look suspicious?? any help would be great!!!

Depends what kind of mood the GMs are in, it can be as simple as a warning email, up to banning not just the account that was powerleveled, but any account associated with your name, credit card, and/or IP.

Money would have been better spent on something like zygor's leveling guide, or one of the others. Its not that hard to level. I've done 2 70s the hard way(my main is a raiding lock that is currently 5/6 SSC and 3/4 TK) and used zygor's guide to level 2 other 70s and am currently working on my 3rd using his guide. The fastest I did was 1-70 in 7 days 8 hours played with a hunter. I have my affl lock, a BM hunter, a feral drood, a holy pali, and the guy I'm working on in my spare time now is a rogue. I use the term spare time loosely, I don't have much of it between RL and being a raider.

I've even seen someone get a 72 hour ban ***** and cry enough that it turned into a perm ban. Gold buying and PLing is not a bright idea. I had a temp ban because I was playing from my laptop in Cheng Du China while I was over there on business, they thought I was PLing when it was just me playing from across the globe, they profusely apologized and gave me a free month after I chastised them for temp banning me though.

Well... first off you were an idiot for buying into a power-leveling service.

If the GMs find out, and if they are in a bad mood, they can ban your account. This will mean: your CD key, IP address, and account will be locked. Meaning can never be used again.

You'll need to go buy a new copy of the game, register with a different credit card, and connect with a different address.

Or they could give you a suspention if they are not in a bad mood, check the e-mail address you signed up with, they will send you an e-mail with what, if anything, they have decided to do.

Does WoW have a specific rule against power leveling? To my knowledge you are safe to do this. I know they will ban you for buying gold but I think power leveling is ok.

Powerleveling (paying somebody to level your character) is against Blizzards TOS. They have gotten very good at catching this and will ban your account. Not only would this cause you not to be able to access any character on the account, but it would also waste the money you had spent.

If for some reason Blizzard doesnt catch you, the powerleveling company could outright steal your account or hack it at a later time. No powerleveling company is safe.
