Hopefully there are some minecraft fans that can answer this one. hearing alot of talk about the new 1.7 coming out soon. does anyone know exactly when it will be out? hope it will be sometime this year

The first snapshot came out yesterday 9/5/2013 (if you want to try it out.) A snapshot release usually lasts about 3-4 weeks, in various forms, before it becomes an official release. I would hazard a guess that 1.7 will probably be released between 9/26 and 10/3.



This year? Oh definitely. They don't like to sit on code changes for that long.

Minecraft Version 1.7.9 is now officially released. This version contains some bugfixes, a few updates to make Realms even better than it already is and prepares Minecraft for the renaming feature that will eventually allow you to rename your player. The renaming feature will not be available right now, but this is an important step towards it. We have also changed the internal handling of player skins to make use of our new, improved skin servers.

No one knows mojang doesn't know really but i'm going for a ruff guess and i'm going to say november. Mojang have there hands for right now becuase there trying to get a gaming graphics company to code the graphics for minecraft for ps4-ps3-vita.
