Question:
Halo REACH or COD Black Ops?
2010-08-22 05:29:19 UTC
I already know what I am sort of...reaching...towards...

How about you?

Are you...reaching for Halo Reach...

OR

Are you...opting for COD Black Ops...

I am not a hardcore Halo fan, and have not touched Halo 3 for years...all the download content etc is untouched, and never bought ODST therefore never played the Reach BETA however, Halo REACH is drawing me in, and it's like a new chance for me to start fresh and actually get into it.

As for COD Black Ops, is it really going to be much different and worth it? I am so familiar with modern warfare 2 that any minor changes will not really move me - not hardcore COD fan either, sort of neutral for the two, though I like the look of Halo REACH so far...

Because i don't want to be biased in my answer, i will let you choose. I'll give you the pros and cons of both of the games, and you can decide for yourself what you think is better.

Note that i have never played these games and am just making these statements off of. I will only make statements about what i can discern by looking at trailers, demos, etc.

We can start with Call of Duty: Black Ops (My preference, but that's just me)

Graphics

The graphics on MW2 were revered as the best of any 360 game, so Black Ops probably will be a step up. Almost every environment is different from the last, one missions you're in a Vietcong Tunnel, the next you're in a hovering Helicopter.

Anticipation

As much as i hate to admit it, Black Ops is only ranked #3 on the most anticipated games of 2010-2011, lagging behind Gears of War III, and Halo: Reach at the top.

Multiplayer

MW2 had one of the biggest multiplayer networks in the world, and Black Ops is supposed to be an expansion, so you can only imagine how big it's going to be. However, nobody likes Noob Tubers or Camping Snipers, both of which can get very annoying, and it is confirmed that grenade launchers will be in Black Ops.

Now for Halo: Reach.

Graphics

Though Halo 3 or ODST was never as revered as MW2 for graphics, it was still pretty frikin good if you ask me. The diverse environments and enemies added to the unique experience, and hopefully reach will be no different. However, some of the landscapes and characters are a little choppy, which has been a recurring trend in the Halo franchise.

Anticipation

As i stated previously, Halo: Reach is at the top of the food chain as the #1 most anticipated game of 2010-2011. However, the magazine which said this was Microsoft endorsed, so...

Multiplayer

The teasers and trailers have revealed little, but you can see the improvements all ready. The Legendary Map Packs on Halo 3 blew me away, so Halo: Reach will probably be above and beyond. Though there isn't as big a Halo network as there is CoD, its hard to tell which is better.

Well, that's it, I've laid out the good and bad of both games,

Most people would suggest Black Ops because they think it was made by the people who made Modern Warefare 2.

And most people like Modern Warfare 2 because other people like Modern Warefare 2.

Call of Duty is the Ambercrombie & Fitch of video games.

So if you want to be cool with a bunch of Dbags and little kids, which most people want to do, then get what everyone already knows you'll like: Call of Duty Black Ops.

Run around and you're sure to get plenty of right-place-right-time luck kills to make you feel 1337!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2

Black Ops for me as im a call of duty fan

i mean Modern warfare and modern warfare 2 became game of the year and E3 say that black ops is even better as it gives you a diffrent style of warfare (cold war, vietnam)

its worth a change

in my opinion it depends on what you are actually looking for in a game. for example i think that halo normally has a better one player story mode than the call of duties and halo has a better co-op story mode but when it comes to the multiplayer for the call of duty games this is normally better and a lot more interesting than the halo series. I don't know what it was but to me halo's multiplayer always seemed to lack something when compared to call of duties but i think that the call of duty storyline normally drags on a bit in my opinion!

hope this helped!!!!

Blackops, no doubt. Halo looks cool and whatnot, but it's an rts game isn't it? and even if it wasn't i'd still go for black ops. You can fly helicopters, watch the interview trailers on youtube
