What is a private server on Maple story?

Question

People say it's easier to play and you get better item drops on private servers. If you know what that is please tell me where do I get one. Thanks a lot =D

It is a MapleStory server hosted by a third party, which is an almost exact copy of MapleStory, except that drop rates and experience rates are usually higher, as well as certain features within the game are different (eg certian NPCs functioning as shops or taxis rather than their purpose in the real game. Such features are usually unique to that private server.) Nexon is currently seeking out and shutting down all private servers it finds, you'll be hard pressed to find one still running.

A private server hosts their own version of the game, generally using the official client for the graphics/game engine but providing their own patch so you access their server. The legal status of private servers is unclear. There tend to be far fewer players on a private server, increased drop rates, increased experience and meso gain, and often premium items can be acquired more easily.



To try one out, search for Maple Private Servers. You'll probably get a top 100 list. Pick one from there and follow instructions to get it working. You might have to download an older, unpatched version of Maple.

When you open MapleStory, you connect to Nexon's server. If you use a Private Server, you connect to someone else's server. You would get greater exp from each monster, and more mesos, and a higher chance of items dropping. Nexon are currently trying to shut them all down so it is a lot harder to find one now. Google is your friend, although most results now do not work. Private servers are ILLEGAL.

howdy... in a pair of weeks... each and every person will choose for to play the hot jobs... at last you will see a sparkling inner maximum server... only wait and notice baby. i individually dont like inner maximum servers i don't have a clue why that's barely that once I have been given to the point max... there replaced into no longer something to do.. i had nx, so did each and every person else... i had countless money... so did each and every person else... i had godly equips and so did each and every person else... and for gods sake i had gacha and so did each and every person else... inner maximum servers get uninteresting rapid. yet anyhow i like typical maple and my aran... only save looking and you will for particular come across a server faster or later.
