if you do, what is your reason? considering the price of games these days, wouldn't it be better to purchase something different? maybe theres some added content in other versions but is it really worth it?

If someone buys a game for two separate consoles, it usually is because there is additional or different content on one system vs. another.

A prime example of this is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The XBOX and PS3 versions are more-or-less the same. The Wii version, however, is completely different. The story is similar, but the level design is completely different, as well as the control scheme. They really are two different games.

Many games have differences like this, albeit smaller ones. For instance, Batman Arkham Asylum has a sequence where you play as The Joker that is absent from the XBOX version. Conversely, the XBOX has an exclusive right with GTA IV, wherein the xbox has exclusive downloadable content that the PS3 version does not have. Fighting games might have different rosters on games, such as the PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox versions of Soul Calibur 2 having Heihachi, Link, and Spawn respectively. Things like that.

The game and the way you play it is very different on different consoles. For example. Age of Empires 2 is a turn based game on one console, but a real time game on another.

well i have never personally but it can be a good idea. For instance Call of duty WAW has been on the wii for a while but has no Nazi Zombies. But the 360 version does so i can see why you would want to buy WAW for 360. oh and laura i have a 360, PS3 and a wii and like 3 old systems. its not a waste of money if u play them :)

Some games are better to be played on pc than consoles, but if somebody really, really likes the company,he would like to help them by buying the 2nd game for his console... theoretically speaking.

I got Zelda for the game cube and really am a big fan. Spent most of the Xmas hols glued to it so when we got the wii swapped it for that version to give it a try. Prefer game cube version.
