Try this:-

1. Click on Nintendo Wi-fi connection setting instead of click settings.

2.Click Connection 1/2/3.

3. Search for your access Point/Manually set up you Access point info.

4.a. If you clicked search for access point, wait for the search to finish and then click on you SSID.

4.b. If you clicked manually set up, type in your Details.

5.a. If you clicked on find Access point and clicked on your SSID type in your WEP key and then test your connection.

5.b. If you clicked Manually, after you put your details in, test connection.

Then you should see your Nintendo wifi connection I.D

Try setting up the network manually. On a PC, double-click on the little wireless indicator in the corner (It's a computer screen with 'sound waves' coming off of it.) Go to the support tab, then click details. If the PC is connected to the same wireless network as you want your DS on, then just copy all of the information into the DS and it should work. By the way I was using XP. It may not work on Vista (like most other things).
