I haven't charged my PSP for almost a year and a half, then I decided to charge it so I could play Final Fantasy but then I lost my charger as well as the USB chord, so I tried using my HP laptop's charger and it worked. My PSP was charging, the orange light was on but when I tried turning it on, the green light would show up for half a second and turns back to orange. So I searched for how to fix a bricked psp and it says that you need a pandora battery, and you can make one. I did the whole open up the batter thing and destroy pin no. 4 but didn't have the same results as the others. It didn't have a green light but still the same orange light. How do I fix this? would my psp recover if I buy a new battery and a charger?

Looking at your question, I would consider thinking about whether or not your psp is ACTUALLY bricked. The green light turning on for a few seconds and then off could be a problem with the type of charger your using, considering that it's not a psp charger.

It could also be that you need to let your psp charge long enough so that i CAN turn on.

I would highly suggest going out and buying a new psp charger, and if you have the money, a new battery. There is absolutely no possibility that your psp could be bricked from not charging it for a long time.

Good Luck!

Get a new charger adapter. I had issues with my psp when I tried to recharge it with the charger in the electrical outlet and it left my PSP with the same orange light so I just purchased a new one and it worked. Do not open your PSP and assume it is bricked based on what sites tell you.. It may just be that you need the charger that is compatible with the system itself .. hopefully you did not do any damage to the psp when you had opened it.

I think the charger for your laptop will have destroyed the battery for your PSP. So, yeah, I think you need a new battery and charger.

Thats not bricked.... sigh, but you also have to have a mms to go with the pandora. http://dl.qj.net/psp/homebrew-applications/rains-ultralite-mms-maker-for-500-m33-4-v12.html all you need.
