Your best bet is a hd pvr.

If you have a standalone tristar mx hd pvr recorder, or a hauppage hd pvr, you can use that.

Plug the PS3 (xbox 360 or ds or wii) into the tristar mx hd pvr INPUT ports, and plug the tristar mx hd pvr OUTPUT ports to your TV. Change the input on the hd pvr so you see your PS3 on the TV (this means the signal from the PS3 is going through your tristar mx hd pvr.) Pop in blank micro sd card, flash drive, thumb drive, or just record to the internal hard drive, start your game and hit record on the tristar mx hd pvr.

When you're done, hit stop on the tristar mx hd pvr.

You can now watch the video you just made from hd pvr player by pressing play or put into your PC's by the USB cable and edit it using Microsoft Movie maker, or whatever other video editing tool you have. Once the tristar mx hd pvr is connected to your computer, you can convert it into whatever format you need based on your ultimate purpose (like posting to youtube.). Keep in mind you can also connect it to your computer by a network cable too. Or just burn micro sd card or flash drives all day. You can even make copies for your friends to show off your work. You can do all the copying directly from the tristar mx hd pvr. So need to really use a computer ;)

here is an example of the hd pvr i wrote about:

Hello,

I do not see why you couldn't pipe your console through your recorder and record the feed/channel/video using a RCA splitter. When the feed for the picture comes out of the xbox it does not care what is in the loop as long as the xbox can send the signal to the tv screen to see that is the purpose of the rca video and audio connection.

The thing is the device that records it needs to be able to put it on some form of media and in a format that your computer will understand (so you do not have to mess with converting one format to the one you need although people do this every day).

I am wondering if the console was piped through the DVR or Tivo would it allow you to record and then use the network to access the box and copy the recording. This is just a thought because again , I do not if it would pipe out to your pc a format that you can work with or convert.

A video capture card would also offer a solution but you should research which one will give you the tools, options and resolution you want.

Below is a link that offers you a tested solution using a box in the connection but, it has not been tested with a Wii. It still will give you an Idea on how to do this sort of thing.

As Nick said above the Dazzle might work for you to. I the second link I found explains what Nick was talking about a bit more (in a video format) so he deserves the credit for this idea. This video is really good I think this guy explained this Dazzle well. Give him a good comment for me would ya?

The 3rd link is to the Pinnacle web site where they make the Dazzle device.

The forth link is recognition to the user "RAMSEY" on the teamxbox.com forum. This is where I found the 2nd link's address from where he posted the this video to help another user that wanted to do what you want to do.

Have a good day.

I would get a Dazzle capture card, but first listen.

Dazzle sucks, their software sucks, and it made my 6.5/10 Gaming PC lag, and drop half the frames in a 5 minute video.

The reason I say dazzle, is because it is fairly cheap. But if you have the money, get an HD PVR. They are VERY good, and come with amazing software,

You need a capture card. You can get HD or normal ones depending how you play. I'm looking into getting one soon but there pretty complicated. 9 recommend you look it up on google. :-D

The best CHEAPEST one is an EzCap 116 DC60+.

The quality is great and you can get it for really cheap.
