Ok, well i have a friend at school that told me that all i have to do to get my psp downgraded was to have HIM put in a certain battery that he has and it will downgrade my PSP's firmware. If he does that all i have to do is get some files and then transfer them to my psp right? Or do i need something else, i have a usb cord, and a 32 MB mem. card (getting a new one soon!) i mean do i have to have a bigger mem. card?

Don't let your friends mess with your PSP. If he breaks it, you have no guarantee that it'll be replaced. I wouldn't recommend modding your PSP at all, because I've seen so many people brick there PSPs on the software side, or break something on the hardware side that's made their $170 investment unusable, especially if your firmware is anywhere recent.

Seriously kid, don't waste your time. If you don't know how to do this stuff yourself, I doubt you know how to take advantage of a modded PSP anyway. If you really wanna play a bunch of games for cheap, then buy used or get GameFly. And these days you can use custom themes, flash portals that let you use free apps, games and programs, play free flash games, or download PSP games from the PS Store, you don't need modded firmware for any of that.

Just look it up online. Don't waste your time with modded firmware. When your friend breaks it you'll be screwed, and don't listen to the skeptics who are gonna convince you to do it because no matter how good you are with this stuff you can still brick your PSP.

It's been about a year since I've done this so my memory is a little foggy.

You mod the battery which lets it run, but it won't run the OS, and either let it boot a program from your usb port through the computer, or put the software on the psp before hand I can't remember, it will load the software to downgrade your firmware to whatever version, then repair the battery and start your psp.

You can easily mod your psp Try going to HTTP://www.pandorasales.com they have step by step instructions that my mom could follow. This will also unbrick your psp if you mess it up first. If you are still skeptical try there downgrade service and send your psp in and they will do the work for you. Check out there forum for some more information
