What Father Time said is true. If you are eligible, you will be able to transfer realms for free. But unfortunately, if you are not eligible, it is not $15, it is $25 :(

And I agree that we do pay a lot of money towards Blizzard, and SOOOME things should be for free without regulations / eligibility. Everything costs money!

As for population realms, I play on Frostwolf, and it is very heavily populated and is a PvP server. But remember, high population means a lot more pre-pubescent kids nerd raging, and a lot of ganking going on... but then again, que times aren't that bad with so many players-- :P

Not always does a "realm transfer" cost money! Sometimes on a low server you are given the chance to change servers for free. This happened to me on Silvermoon and I got a free move to Korialstrasz.

I would search the forums for indicators that you could get a free transfer first.

If you don't hear anything and still are tired of waiting, you can look into a server transfer. You can search for battlegroups and by faction if you PVP and want to win. Don't transfer to a battlegroup that always loses like my current battlegroup which stinks. LOL.

You can check out a server by just creating a low level toon and hanging out and seeing if you like it. I still have toons on different servers just in case my server starts sucking. And actually I do like the PVP servers. I find that the alliance is nicer to the alliance and the horde is nicer to the horde on those servers and I don't find as many jerky people in my faction. Sure, the other faction may try to gank me, but I can always call in someone to help me and they come and help and don't steal my herbs and whatnot. So my point: don't rule out a pvp server.

I'm in darkspear. It's decently populated.

But, you're going to have to pay a fee of 15 bucks.

Blizzard doesn't do anything for free. >.<

What levels your toon?

If its not even that high a number when you go to log on, create a new character but before you do that change the realm you're in.

In order to change realms, go to battle.net and go to character services. Select change realms. Check to see if your realm has free transfer. If not, I believe its 15.00 to change. To check realms status, go to warcraftrealms.com
