Mage Khajiit. Please read?

So when I first started my Khajiit I was a sneak thief, practiced one handed weapons, and recently started to increase my Archery. But recently I've become more interested in magic, and joined the college of winterhold. The other Khajiit there makes me a bit happy that I'm not the only one of my race, but can a Khajiit even make a good Mage? I've done the College Of Winterhold quests before, so they're nothing new, but I'm just wondering.

btw I'm only level 20, so.

Khajit start with lower magic skills so with that in mind they can level faster as a mage than a thief. since there is a lvl cap tho (81) a khajit mage will be able to max what all mages usually max but will not be able to max other skills as high as say a brenton or altmer mage. the only difference i see in any race picking opposite or unlikely classes is about 10 or so points in non class skills ( ie mage with lockpick or speech perks) Perk calculators help in this creation and build.

There is no reason that a Khajiit can't be a good mage if you just commit to it. Wear robes, use jewlery that increases destruction or mana, enchant boots and gloves to do the same. A couple of the dragon priest masks increase mana, regen, and/or destruction skill. Also, if you have the dawnguard expansion you can get a really good ring from one of the side quests that boots mana by a hundred or so.

Any character can be a good mage, you just have to focus on Magic and MOSTLY magic. If you're flailing around a two-handed Daedric Greatsword like an idiot that won't really help your Destruction much. I say that you graduate the College, become good with potions and buy lots of spellbooks. Hope my Skyrim knowledge helps!

head north and do the discerning the transmundane quest, get the ohgma infinium and use the glitch to increase all your magic skills to 100(normally it disappears when used but can be used multiple times with a glitch). you will then be the best mage there is.

the glitch is as follows(can't be done with 1.9 patch):

buy a house with a bookshelf

make a save beforehand in case something goes wrong

place o.i. on shelf

highlight and read, but do not pick a path

take book

open shelf up

scroll to your inventory and open and read desired path.

You do both use the following to upgrade your Mage Abiliities without changing your "Playing style"

Conjuration - Combat use a Bound Blade or Bound Bow NOTE: can trap souls and fill soul gems.

Alteration - Off-hand use any "Oakflesh/Stoneflesh"

Restoration - Off- hand "Healing Hands" heals you follower as they take damage

Illusion - Off-hand "Muffle" augments sneaking or "Courage" can be used against everyone massive exp gain and no-one is angry about it "hit guards, store keepers, etc..." anytime in town

Destruction - Dual use Right hand Flames and Off-hand Sparks low amounts of magic expended for steady exp gains

Enchant - Break and enchant everything

Of course. It's never too late to change your playstyle, especially after patch 1.9 being able to level up infinitely. I was a (Altmer) pure mage up until recently (level 63), when I reset Conjuration and Destruction to legendary and took up a sword and shield.
