Call it a silly question, but how do I get a pet? I'm a level 13 and I have the quest in my list, but it says to "battle" a pet.... I tried but I don't what that means and I killed it. :( What does that mean and how do I get a pet?

Are you pet battling?
Right click the pet with a paw above it and battle it. Your companion in slot one will battle the pet till death unless you swap it. To capture it, make sure the pet is below 25% health and the picture with the cage is what you click to capture it.

I don't play there so I don't have pet battle stuff, but this looks like a good page of info that should hopefully help you. I believe most little companion pets are battle pets
