Vanguard: Saga of Heroes?

Question

Compared to World of Warcraft, what are some things that Vanguard has/will have that WoW doesn't, and what things will it not have that WoW has?
I already know that in Vanguard you get a mount sooner and you can have your own house, but any details on these would be much appriciated. =)

I have played WoW before (and a multitude of other mmorpgs) but EQ1 was and has been my original game to base my answers from so with that said let me give you some info from what i have seen. I have been keeping a close eye on this game and was eager to get the chance to beta test it. My best description/comparison I could say is that it is a cross between EQ and WoW. Let me explain. For starters you'll notice that the interface is much like wow. As is the tradeskilling in a sense. You have to train which skills you'll want to use and actually go out and find those. But in VG it is more complex you actually run into problems and have more choices. Characters are not cartoonish like in wow and allow probably the most customization I have seen in any mmo. There are lots of different races to choose from and many classes some we might call interesting hybrids compared to the mmo norm. The graphics and world is just stunningly beautiful to say the least. You'll see griphons like in wow but there are a multitude of other mounts you can have also. They just currently changed horses from having no level cap to having to be level 10 to use one. I'm not sure what the level req was in wow but I know in eq as long as you could afford a mount you could buy one. Gameplay is rather quest based and very similar to wow in that aspect. There is lots to do and so much to see. The community has been surprisingly the best I've seen. Everyone is willing to take time out and explain things to you or help you with whatever you are doing. My recommendation to you would be to check out some of the sites I list and see for yourself. Have fun and hope to see you in game sometime.

Yeah don't need to compare Vanguard to WoW. WoW kinda lowered the standards of MMOs.



Now the MMO population has been corrupted. Hopefully Vanguard will weed out those bums that Blizzard brought into the MMO community, like City of Heroes/Villains.

I'm in the Beta now and the lag is ridiculous although I'm sure they'll fix that.

The grahpics are also uncomparable to WoW and WoW ain't all that great either.
