So I recently bought The Walking Dead game (by Telltale) for the Xbox 360 from Gamestop. I had been looking forward to it very strongly. (It is not the GOTY Edition, just the regular disc.) I started playing, and it had terrible frame rate. It was extremely laggy, and the cutscenes AND gameplay were lag hell. Every one or two seconds, the screen would jitter. On the action and combat scenes, it would freeze for around twenty seconds, while the audio would continue. I died many times in combat because the screen froze or lagged. The less action-oriented segments were a bit better, but they still lagged profusely. However, I trudged through the first episode, and thoroughly enjoyed it. But I'm not exactly looking forward to playing again because of the frame rate and lag issue. The lagginess didn't come and go-- it was constant the entire time. Not a second was safe from it.

I'm not sure if it is my copy of the game, because I've never heard of this happening on anyone elses'. None of my other games have ever done this. I have an older Xbox 360 from around 2009.

Should I trade in my copy for another? Will it change anything? Or does it have anything to do with the copy? Does it have something to do with my Xbox handling it? What can I do to fix this problem? Has this happened to anyone else? Please help! I REALLY want to continue this game, but it is a tedious burden to do it with this constant and profuse lag and frame rate issue. Thanks!

P.S. I don't have Xbox Live.

its not the disc, i bought mine brand new. its because the game has so much in it to run, that if you dont have a hard drive (not the flash drive) but the expensive one with the huge amount of space on it, then the game will lag alot. i know because i played it on my sisters xbox first when she had the hard drive, ran smoothe. but when i put it in my xbox without a hard drive, it was extremely laggy.

My advice to you is if you dont get the hard drive, whenever it starts to lag, just hit the xbox home button, it will pause the game while you are lagging and you wont die. once the home menu comes up, you can start the game again right at the point it started to lag.

It's possible it could be your disk, if it has any wear / scractches then more than likely it will be but, someimes clearing your cache, deleting the save and starting the game again works
