Why the rush?

It is a game; the journey literally is the reward. Level 80 is just a teeny tiny part of a vast expanse of game. People literally played the game for years before you could even get to 80 ;p Try taking your time and really reading the quest text as you level up. Heck, even put on the sound. They put a lot of work into this stuff, and if you look at it, it is actually quite fun.

Tips for leveling more efficiently:

-Try getting a leveling guild. There will be people who can give you advice on where to quest at what level, and you may even find a leveling buddy or an occasional run-through.

-Make sure to always have the best food and water available at your level, it cuts out a ton of down-time.

-Pick quests that are green or yellow to you, avoid the orange and don't do them when they are red. Doing slightly lower quests greatly reduces the amount of time spend drinking/eating, and will make you far less likely to die (which of course costs both time and gold)

-Check what instances you can queue for, then go to Wowhead and see what quests are easily available for it. Then put yourself in queue for a random dungeon and world quest while you wait for a group.. It's really the best of both worlds, the lack of down-time of questing, put together with the gear and amazing quest xp of dungeons.

- Wowhead and WowWiki are your friends. Your best friends. They have information on all kinds of game things, from 'Where do I go for this quest' to 'How do I level this prof', 'Where is the glith path in this zone', 'Where do I get 'x' item', and 'What spells should I be using'.. Really, anything you could want to know.

Best of luck, and have fun leveling!

Locks take quite a long time as they can't heal (not counting the stone) and can't tank so here is the best option for you.

I suggest as professions, you take alchemy and herbalism. If you have any other ones then change it cause it wont help you level like this one does. With herbalism, you will get life blood which helps you heal. This is very useful after using life tap and finishing enemies quicker without having to worry about mana or health. Make sure to have herbalism up to date if not alchemy too. The higher your herbalism, the better your life blood will be. With alchemy, you can use potions and elixirs on yourself which recover health, mana or are able to buff you. Also, be sure to have first aid as you can use bandages to regain HP without having to sit down and eat.

Always have random dungeon finder on. They give you good items, good exp and that way you can level faster.

While you wait for dungeons, never stop doing quests. People don't always realize how much of a difference you can make by doing quests in the right place. Piece of advise. Do not bother with quests which are green or grey. They don't give you a lot of exp and it wont really help if the quest is killing mobs which are barely green and going grey. If you were on rest and you would happen to kill them, your rest would go to waste. Also, always level in places which are around 2-3 levels higher than yourself. No point in wasting your time in areas which are lower level than yourself.

For tactics, be sure to use a void walker while soloing. You wouldn't want to get damage done to you. For instances, use an imp as they can do more damage and you don't have to worry about losing HP cause you're not a tank and you have a healer anyway.

Make sure you are rested every time you finish playing. You want to get double the exp as much as you can.

Last thing you can do is if you get one or two quests that are dungeon required but are red which means you're too low level, then ask someone to boost you. Usually characters like DKs jump on that opportunity since they need the achievement themselves. WIth those boosts, you will have the dungeon done with a lot of exp gained. great items which can be sold for a high price and you can have the quests done which when handed in can get you a lot of exp. If you do it like this. You can hit 80 in just over 5 hours of gameplay (from level 31 not the start).

Leveling a dps is going to be a bit of a challange but since the release of the dungeon finder you should be able to que up for a dungeon and while you wait in the que you should quest quest quest. Then do the dungeon when it pops up. when ur done just rejoin the que and go back to questing. Thats the only way to do it really. You could do PVP battlegrounds if your good at them but alliance isnt usually to great at bgs and you only get a bunch of xp if you do well or if you win. Your lucky that they have the dungeon finder, i have two level 80s, a priest and a warrior, and when i leveled em i had to do it the old fashioned way and it took forever. lol

just keep questing and questing. at the end of the day, quests are the heart and soul of that game and they will get you leveled faster than anything else unfortunately 72 is where **** starts to slow down again. 70-72 is always a cakewalk, then they slow it down so you actually have to work a little harder. but be paitent. its all worth it in the end. northrend is really awesome and you get to see a lot of it. you should be close to heading into grizzly hills and/or zul-drak take a bit of time to break up your quests with dungeons and things. you may not be able to do heroics just yet but if you go into the instances and at least know the layout of them and the basics of the fights, it can only help you when you hit 80, plus its a shot at some better gear than you would get as a quest reward.

Keep on questing and queue for the Dungeon Finder every chance you get. Check Wowhead for the group quests and pick them up as soon as possible and have your Lv 80 friends help you knock them out.

I've had good experience using leveling guides (though Horde only). Try James, he's nice and detailed.

2 options, dungeons dungeons and dungeons via dungeon finder service introduced after 3.3, you get extra experience if random is chosen (destro spec)

or grind, take demonology spec and let your void tank, you then AOE mobs, when you reach 51, you'll get felguard which will make this work easier.

these are 2 fastest options
