I respect your desire to play the game alone, but I have to warn you that you'll find the experience extremely limiting without any other players. Here's why: All of the best treasure, weapons and armor can only be found in dungeons or 'instances'. These instances are impossible to do alone. You will need someone to heal you, someone to do damage, and someone to take all the damage... you can't do all of those things by yourself. the game was designed to be like dungeons and dragons... it's takes a full party of players to be successful!

You can try Warcraft 3 (?). It's a RTS, Real Time Strategy game, a little like a chess game but without waiting for turns. Everything in World of Warcraft is based on the Warcraft RTS game so that might be what you want. The Frozen Throne and Defense of the Ancients are expansions (?) of Warcraft 3, I think. RTS games are very fast paced so you won't be bored unless you discover where the AI (artificial intelligence) strategic or tactical flaws are.

There is no point in playing World of Warcraft offline. Despite what the power players say, hitting level 80 isn't the only way to have fun. Part of the fun in World of Warcraft is in Barrens chat and Trade chat. :P

If you want to play WoW offline, you missing the whole point of the game. Aside from the technical and legal issues, it's kind of like playing a 4 player card (like hearts) but playing all 4 hands yourself. Where's the fun? The whole point of online games is playing with/against others all over the world. I'm not diss'ing your desire to play alone. I'm just trying to point out that there are other games that may fit the bill for you better.

There isn't an offline verion of WoW, although Blizzard are working on Diablo 3, which will probably be your best bet. Until then I'd suggest Diablo 2, which has quite a large community online, and is free to play online, as well as the Single PLayer option

WoW can't be played alone, or offline, or for free (well, some 'private servers' are free, but against the TOS)

What you CAN do is play the rest of the Warcraft series - those are, I believe, single player games that are not online. :)

There is no offline version of World of Warcraft, the closest thing to that would be a private server, if you make your own server their will not be other people playing with you, so it will be like an offline version

The idea of an offline WoW is ridiculous, the entire premise of the game is based on interaction with other people. Or you cna make your own private server, if you're really that desperate...you need to hunt down someone who's made a private server and ask them to let you play, and you'll pretty much be alone :S, or ask them how to make your own if you don't mind the possible comp strain.

Trust me when I say it's not that fun by yourself, you'd be running around doing random things, it get's really lonely, really fast.

If you want to give it a try, just go download the free trial version at http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml

It doesn't exist. The world changes weekly with updates, new loots, and class changes.

You can't play offline. Get a job that pays minimum wage, work 3 hours a month and you'll be able to afford the game. Stop being lazy

Why would you EVER do that? Playing WoW offline is pointless. It completely takes the whole point out of what it is.

Since WOW is a client-server game, you'll need to set up your private server anyway. More info by link below

Hello,

If you click here on the link you can download for free World of Warcraft: http://j.mp/1p0De3D

In this role-playing game, you will have to create your own character and choose one of the available roles to start forging you own path in the world of Azeroth.

That's just not possible. It's like wanting to eat lunch but take it cold because you don't want to pay for it. You still have to pay for it.

Besides - there are many many many things you cannot accomplish without the help of others.

well WoW is a MMORPG, which is a Massive Multiplayer ONLINE Role Playing Game, so since it is online... well there is no offline version of it.
