its important that you set up a static ip address there are programs for that(ex: "http://www.portforward.com/store/Portfo…

also to set it up with a static ip...

look up your public ip address by using a site like this, http://www.whatismyip.com/, this should be what your friend has to type in along with the port (ex ":25565") at the end of it. also go to your routers web page by typing in its address (ex: mine is "10.0.0.1") it differs with every company. next if you havent already done so go under advanced to add a CUSTOM port forwarding address. you want a tcp/udp with the range from 2556X to the same 2556X, X is any number u want the default in the server properties is 5 if you want it to be easy. next tell it your local ip address this can be found by: clicking on the start menu and typing in cmd then press enter next type in ipconfig/all and look up your wireless lan adapters ip address or if your connected via cable its the local area connection i think... there are many tutorials online about this part, however once you find it and then tell the port forwarding where to port forward to all you have to do is hit apply and make sure during all this that you dont have your server running unless it doesnt work and in that case make sure it is running and apply it again. this is because in some routers this is buggy. i hope this helps.

first, setup a static ip address. this can sometimes be done on the router which is more reliable way of doing that.

then you need to forward port 25565 to that static ip address.

then the server will work. read on the forums/wiki on how to setup permissions/plugins.

if you need detailed help you can skype me jasonbay13 or email (same user)[at]yahoo.com

Why could you choose to grief, I see no entertainment in destroying others artworks. If there became a server obtainable that supported griefing there could by no ability be all and sundry on the server that somewhat outfitted something of any nicely worth, just to be destroyed via a griefer.
