I want to make a lock for the alliance. Which should i pick? Gnome or human? Also what are good professions for a warlock? I'm guessing tailoring because they use cloth armor, but what do I know. Please help. :D

As a Horde player, I'm racist against gnomes so I'd advise you to roll a human. :p Plus I like that you'd be a bigger target.

Profession combos that will work very well for warlocks are tailoring/enchanting, herbalism/alchemy and mining/jewelcrafting. You can mix and match, but you need the herbs for alchemy and the mining for jewelcrafting. If you already have higher level toons with these gathering professions, then you don't really need them on another one. For example, I have mining, herbalism and enchanting maxed on two other 80s so the warlock I'm leveling up now has tailoring and jewelcrafting. It's working out so far, though it is a bit annoying to have to switch toons to go mine for stuff. Thankfully mailing between alts is instant.

I am not really an ally type person but for race probably Gnome because come on really? It's an RPG fantasy game... No Humans! Thats just my opinion. The best professions for a Warlock is Tailoring/Enchanting. With Tailoring you can make gear for youself and Enchanting lets you have some of the best enchantments, and you can make a lot of money from enchanting other peoples gear.

Gnome. Definitely. They get a racial Int. bonus, and a similar freedom ability as the humans do.. and personaly I'm terrified of Goldshire. Never go to Moonguard's Goldshire.. NEVER. And Tailoring/enchanting works well. But Mining/skinning is a good combo to getting gold by playing the Auction House. Also.. I've NEVER met a bad Gnomelock. Most Human Warlocks I've seen are rather obnoxious.. myself not excluded from time to time.. Yes I have a human lock. And when you can start using a spec, leveling is Demonology, PvP is Destruction, and PvE is Affliction.

You should roll a Human for their racial Every Man for Himself, which comes in handy both in PvP, and PvE, i would also advise you to get tailoring, and enchanting because they both provide great caster buffs for end-game raiding, not to mention the fact you could create, and enchant your own gear.

Searching about there should help. Also, the official WoW forums can be of use too, or even trade chat in the cities with an alt ^_^
