Question:
Which "next gen" system will come out on top?
2006-07-11 07:54:10 UTC
The next gen system wars will soon be in full swing, and I was curious as to which system people think will come out on top.

Nintendo's Wii does not have the advanced graphics that the other systems do, but it implements new technology and it's cheaper than the others.

The PS3 will impelment great graphics and "Blue Ray" technology, but its price will be through the roof.

The Xbox 360 already has a loyal following, but I know some people who will sell theirs in order to buy a Wii or a PS3.

Given these factors, which system will end up on top?

Sony's followers are very loyal. Even with the extremely high price point, many people will buy the PS3.

I am curious about the Wii. I have a GameCube (which I barely play), and was not impressed with the games. I don't think teh Wii will have any exclusive games (apart from the franchise standards....Zelda, Metroid), but the controller is very intriguing. That and it will probably be the cheapest console on the market.

I currently have an Xbox 360, and I love it. There aren't too many games out for it now that I am interested in, but the ones that I do have, I do love. It is also on the expensive side, but it does offer a lot.

I think this is the time where the Xbox 360 might take over the PS3. The high price point is going to turn a lot of people off to it, and when the price of the Xbox 360 comes out (along with Halo 3) a lot more people will pick it up. I don't think the Wii will have enough exclusive games to compete, and the controller won't have people buying after a few months.

I say Xbox, mostly through Microsoft's PR campaign.

Because Sony is so slow to bring out the PS3, Microsoft has a major advantage. When Sony finally does come around, all Microsoft has to do is lower their price. Sony will still have a loyal following, but it won't be able to compete in terms of market share and price. It'll be kind of like the PC versus Mac story, with Sony being the Mac.

As for Nintendo, they've always been good for the "kids" market. Most of their games are geared towards kids. Xbox and PS3 are geared more for adults. And adults are what drives the market these days. But they'll fill in the number three spot, right behind PS3.

I think the PS3 will come out on top even though it's more expensive. People that have had the original Playstation and the PS2 won't want to stop the tradition of having Playstations and get a 360. Playstation has more games out, but Xbox has some of the more popular ones like Halo. I guess it depends on which games you like more and what things you want the most.

Nintendo's innovative spirit will pull it off, with their new Wii.

Alot of Xbox and Xbox 360's games are pc available, so I just play them on there.

PS3 is just not cost effective for the average american kid/teen

there is not any excellent formula notwithstanding it calls for a range of of solutions and surprising solutions in a section, or in 3 sections. the three sections have in simple terms been reinstated. you want to maintain paintings in the realm or you'll loose the TC badge. they're reviewed weekly. there have been individuals with that similar difficulty, because the most suitable improve, very last weekend.
