I always wondered this since the first day I used Steam. I mean really what is the point of have a sale everyday? I'm fine with it, but I want an idea of why Valve would do something like that.

I think it's to get people away from console games and digital downloads and draw more attention to their own selection.

Because if they have a lot of sales, more people will want to buy things just because it's a sale and it costs less. It's a lot better than having a ton of really expensive games and not having as many people buy them because they're so expensive
