How can you unlock Dampierre in Soul Calibur 5?

Question

I heard that you can get him or unlock him if you pre-order him before the release date or if not you can get him if he is already available as a DLC in play station network/xbox store but you need to purchase him and i also heard that you can get him for free if you will download him on a site on your computer . and my question is . is there any way where i can unlock Dampierre in the game? (without doing what i mentioned above) and also if you can tell me what happen to the old characters from soul calibur 4 like cassandra,setsuka ,seong-mina,yun seong and zasalamel cuz im really curious why they don't appear anymore in soul calibur 5 .

Once you reach level 17, as in your account level, which can be done simply through arcade, you will unlock another route in the arcade called "Extra", in said route you will fight some decent opponents, and the final boss will be Algol, if you defeat him you will unlock Algol, and the top of the tower of souls. how to unlock..him? simple answer you cant..if you want him you gotta buy him from the psn or xbox live....as for why this characters disappeared..i dont know...no one knows they simply got rid of them..maybe they rushed the game for a quick buck, maybe they simply thought they were the least liked of all the characters. There really no reason or true ingame explanation that gives any reason..inless you think 17 years is a valid enough reason for these character to have simply died or moved on from fighting.. we will never know....
