Help I can't join DB (Skyrim)?

Question

I'm having a problem with the quest Innocence Lost. I talk to the boy and get the contract to kill the Grelod the Kind, and I went and killed her. But, the quest doesn't acknowledge she's dead. Her body on the floor still has a quest marker, and my objective is still "Kill Grelod the Kind." I tried redoing it several different ways including killing her before recieving the quest, but it won't work. Help! PS I have already tried waiting, restarting, and leaving the town...

Go to an earlier save and redo the quest? There should be three auto save moments. Can you try to kill her again?

Looks like u have encountered a game breaking glitch sorry :/ not as bad as the glitch i have where every time i try to fast travel i just get a black screen :P did u try going back to the boy and talking to him?

It's a glitch that you probably can't get around. I didn't have that problem when joining DB. You might not be able to join that guild, which sucks because they're awesome.
