mages can have pets.

but mages cant tame pets.

you can have: non combatant LIVING pets; parriots from booty bay, snakes from valley of spirit or can buy special pets off from auction house with $$ depending on ur server.

or you can have combatant pets: mechanical dragonkin, combat chicken, mechanical yeti and so on UNLESS you are enginneer. while some can get gained from doing quest.

or u can have non-combatant MECHANICAL pets, life-like mech toad, lil' smoky, pet bombling, again, only if you are enginneer.

or like above said, you can have a water elemental to fight for you once you have reached required level.

horse? yes you can have horse, but not as pets, but as ride, unless you on alliance side. or undead horse if your horde side.

hope it helps!

Nope. I have a level 68 Druid, 39 Warrior and 28 Mage. Mages do not have pets. A Hunter gets pets.

No. The closest thing you could possibly have to a "pet" is if you spec frost and get the water elemental, but the earliest you could get that is level 50, and it's a very poor substitute for a real combat pet (from a hunter or warlock).

Since you're only level 6, if you really want a pet, reroll a warlock.

Mages cannot have a pet unless your a frost mage then you can summon a water elemental at level 50. Warlocks can summon minions and hunters can tame pets. However you can have a non battle pet that just follows you around that you can buyy from vendors.(all of them ar quite small).

Not pets of the playing kind. Well... hmmm

- You can get things like panda bears, pigs, kittens, etc that follow you around. You cannot make them do anything though, and you usually get them from trinkets and special Blizzard WoW quests.

- I was always a Arcane mage so I don't know about summoning, but If you can, it would be short short time, like the duration of the spell or low level hit points. Something just to distract mobs and such.

- I know hunters have PET pets. That they can control and they have to watch life on and such. They also have to feed it and level it up as well. I believe they get these from capturing creeps but don't quote me on that. Ive never played a hunter. Warlocks also get "pets" i believe. Like elementals and such that follow them and help do damage. But I don't believe you have to level them up, only level the spell that summons them up when you yourself level and train.

- DON'T listen to people who tell you WoW is dumb. hehe.. I've been playing it off and on for three years now. It has its dull moments (usually when you are frustrated and/or if you come to the highest level and have to wait for the next expansion). I enjoy it. As long as you don't end up like that south park episode... i don't see what the problem is.

What kind of pet are you talking? Normal, caged pets that are stored in your inventories (ie- [Baby Warg Pup] ) are available to everyone, regardless of class.

Otherwise, you'll have to wait until you're upper level (I think 60) to get your Water Elemental, which is more of a spell than a pet. If you want a commandable pet who will attack your enemies, reroll (make a new character) as a Hunter or Warlock

If you go frost at a later level (its at the bottom tier of the frost tree) you can summon a timed pet. When you get level 10, hit "n" and you can look at all the talents

no they cannot have a pet. but after level 60, if you spec ice, then you will be able to have a water summoning that looks like a void walker that will last for about 3 mins. so in a way thats how you would be able to have a pet.

hope i helped:)
