When I try to install WOW on my computer I get the message that I have too few space to install the game, but I have 30GB free!! What this problem could be and how it can be solved? I'm installing from a DVD, and when I execute the Installer.exe I got this error message. Thanks in advance to you all who try to help me.

Are you having problems installing the game?

If you are using Windows XP/2000 please be sure you are logged on as an administrator account when installing the game. If the game is not installed on an administrator account, computer permissions can prevent the installation from completing. We cannot support the game on a non-administrator account.

If the installation hangs or gives an error at the same point or on the same file every time, it's possible the CD itself is damaged on the sector where that file is stored. Try the disk in an alternate drive or even an alternate computer to see if the same problem happens. This is the easiest way to identify a potentially damaged CD.

Another good test and potential workaround is to copy the entire contents of the installation CDs (or the one DVD) to your hard drive:

First, make a new folder on your desktop and name it something such as WoW Installer.

Display the disc contents by opening My Computer, right-click the CD, and choose Open.

Go to the Edit menu and choose Select all, so all the files are highlighted.

Go to the Edit menu and choose Copy.

Open the new folder you created on your desktop

Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste.

The files should copy from the CD to that folder.

Once this is complete, please put in the next install disk.

Open up the disk (using the process in step 2 above).

Select the file called Installer Tome with the number at the end.

Go to the Edit menu and choose Copy.

Open the new folder you created on your desktop

Go to the Edit menu and choose Paste.

The "Tome" file will copy over.

Repeat steps 8-14 to get the "Installer Tome" files off of the remaining installation disks. If you receive any error while copying any of these files, that typically indicates a problem with the disk.

However, if you were able to successfully copy all of the files to the new folder on your hard drive, please try running the installation program straight from the folder by double clicking on the installer icon. This has been a dependable workaround for a significant percentage of users, and may get the game installed for you.

If the disk appears to be damaged, please exchange it at the place of purchase or see our Replacement Information page.

You can also try setting your CD-ROM drive to run with different settings. See our DMA and Sync Data Transfer page for more instructions on toggling these settings.

We strongly recommended running in a Selective Startup when attempting installation, since background applications may interfere with the transfer of data. You can find more information and detailed instructions for this mode on the World of Warcraft Closing Background Applications page.

Make sure the installation CD's you are using are from the same set. Mixing and matching CD's can also cause installation errors. Verify the "Installer Tome" on each CD have the same date.

Finally, you should make sure the hard drive is working properly, and free of viruses and spyware. These pages will help with that:

Do you have a partition on your Hard Drive? Thats like drive C and drive D and drive D isnt the CD drive.

If so, one of your partitions is nearly full and you need to drag some folders from drive C to drive D till you get the space on drive C that you need.
