FYI: RTS Stands for "Real Time Strategy".

From Real-time strategy Wiki(Link Below):
Real-time strategy (RTS) is a sub-genre of strategy video game which does not progress incrementally in turns.

Alright, now that that's out of the way, I will explain my "question" further.
Basically, I am looking for a Multiplayer RTS game. The two games in this genre that I have quite enjoyed are "Stick Empires" and "Total Annihilation: Kingdoms". In my opinion, nothing could possibly beat TA:K in RTS games. But I would like to see other people's opinions, and check out some new games. Any answers are appreciated, thank you for your time.

By The Way: I told you my 2 favorite RTS's because I was hoping some/most answers would be somewhat like those.

Starcraft 2 is going to be a great game, it has some pretty decent lore behind it (unique factions), honestly if you didn't buy SC2 you'd missing out on a HUGE part of the rts time line, it has a pretty competitive environment as well as a big community, not to mention there's a pretty deep tactical depth to the game itself. you can also try some Age of Empires (i recommend Age of Kings) games i know it's not really modern\ futuristic rts game you're looking for but it's still one of the best RTS game to ever come out, it has such a big campaign that's pretty much guaranteed to always have you occupied. As for CC red alert 3, i've always been a big fan of The Command and Conquer series but i can't really say anything to good about this one... due to i tried it on the 360 it pretty much killed the game for me, there didn't seem to be that much of a variety of units\ buildings you could choose from and i found Tania and some other elite units to be far to OP. There's also warhammer 40k DOW2... never really tried it but i hear it's somewhat decent similar to Starcraft, might be worth checking out some trailers on youtube or some reviews to see what you think about it.. Hope you find what you're looking for

For good multiplayer I think you are going to have to go with a recent game for the more active community.

Starcraft 2 is probably a safe bet for a Multiplayer RTS where there will be lots of people playing.

The Dawn of War games are pretty good too, even for a non warhammer fan, but both of these games are futuristic RTS games and I'm not sure if that is what you want.

The only RTS games I like are League of Legends, and Warcraft III the Frozen Throne.. But its been years since I've played the latter. League Of Legends is pretty amazing though too.
