I played FFX way back when it first came out, and it was my favourite game almost instantly, I've played other FF's and they just don't seem to compare. So my question is, is there another game that can capture me like FFX? there must be! I just can't keep playing the game over and over (for info, yes i have tried FFXII and FFX-2)
thanks guys!

Final Fantasy X is something unique. You won't see a game of such greatness every now and then. However, there are excellent games that can be compared to it. I've played all Final Fantasy games from 1~10, and most of them are great. Sure Final Fantasy X graphics are superior to those, FFX lacks many features that the other ones have, such as a HUGE world map in which you can discover several continents. However, Final Fantasy X has the best battle system in my opinion. I still like FFVIII and FFIX more though.

If you are looking for newer games, I'd suggest Final Fantasy III, IV, and Dragon Quest IV for DS. Lost Odyssey for Xbox 360. Persona 3, 4, and Dragon Quest VIII for PlayStation 2. And so on...

I'm in the same boat. FFX was one of the first high production values RPGs that I played, and I fell in love with story/setting/characters. I'm not sure from your question about what you liked most about the game, but you have to accept that you might never find anything like it, especially if it was one of the first RPGs that you experienced.

My suggestion is to try the Kingdom Hearts series (starting with the 1st on the PS2). They play much differently, but like FFX it features high production values, an interesting plot & setting, and lovable characters. It features disney characters though, and some people can't stand those :P

Either that, or wait for FFXIII on the PS3

There are quite a few titles out there that you may like. For instance, Dragon Quest VIII is a very good RPG with slightly cartoonish graphics, interesting characters a good storyline and various side quests.

Okami is another game you might be interested in. The graphics are very different with a more painted feel. This game uses brush strokes for various activities during the game.

I also agree with Kingdom Hearts being a good choice. The gameplay has a good learning curve and very nice graphics.

Well, looks like you like Oriental RPG after all,I player FF for years and and collected them all,at the same time a long-life RPG call Tales series(Tales of destiny,Tales symphania...and so on)is very oriental too,but it's characters designed based on Japanese animation style, and the fighting system is more of action, combo is moving.Produced by NAMCO.

I remember it released some English version, maybe you could give it a try
